On Friday the 28th of September, The Changing Workplace took part in Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. Across the UK offices, schools and community groups all joined in serving tea, coffee and cake to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
To do our bit for this worthy cause, the team in the Haywards Heath office organised their own office bake sale. A competition was also held for the best baker, to encourage as many people as possible to bake. The prize was a prestigious ‘Best Baker’ apron and a bottle of bubbly kindly donated by management.
The standard of baking was really high with a single vote separating first and second place. Thomas’ vanilla vegan cake was a big hit and came a very close second, surprising a lot of people with its ‘creamy’, ‘buttery’ taste. In the end it was Sam Thorley who won by a single vote with her indulgent chocolate orange cake.
The day was a great success with everyone enjoying stuffing their faces on a Friday morning. We raised £78 in total including text donations from staff in and out of the office.
Thanks again to everyone involved, particularly those who baked delicious treats for us to eat.
