The Changing Workplace build management tools supporting some of the biggest companies in the world. Our tools provide the operational capability and data insight that enable organisations to manage their buildings and optimise costs. The Corporate Real Estate industry is constantly changing requiring us to regularly iterate our approach to industry demands – from pushing development capabilities across the full stack to critically analysing new technologies, such as IoT and AI.
The Role

This is a full-stack development role (Laravel/Vuejs-centric). You’ll be working on everything to deliver a first-class experience to our clients, from working on databases to server-side processes and working on some cutting edge frontend tech. Our new stack includes Laravel and Vue.js in addition to various older technologies – you’ll be working across all of these and working with the rest of our team to deliver client request as well as R&D on new features.

The Changing Workplace are looking for someone who has a passion for web development and technology in general and can demonstrate this to us. If you have a portfolio or a github account, we’d love to see it.

  • Development of new features & applications for suite of web based products & client sites
  • Maintaining existing products
  • Deliver secure, performant, tested, working software in line with product requirements
  • Able to speak to clients in plain English and help to gather requirements and suggest improvements to the user experience
Essential skills:
  • Good knowledge of Laravel
  • Good knowledge of modern Javascript (ES6/7) such as Vue, Vuex
  • Good knowledge of the principles of relational databases and knowledge of SQL
  • Knowledge of modern build practices (Webpack, NPM etc.)
  • Skills in a server side scripting language such as PHP, Python
  • Good skills in HTML5, CSS and JavaScript
  • Strong problem solving and logical thinking
Desirable skills:
  • Understanding of the principles of RESTful web applications
  • Understanding of MVC and OO principles
  • Knowledge of automated testing, PHPUnit
  • Skills in responsive web design
  • Knowledge of accessibility
  • Knowledge of ElasticSearch
Bonus skills:
  • Knowledge of CAD development
  • Knowledge of cloud platform such as Azure
